Our Thanksgiving Weekend

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful day! We went to Grammy & Grampy's house in Brenham. We hung out with Grammy, Grampy, Randy, Kari, Dana, Mrs. Vlon, Mamaw & Papaw. We had the best food ever. Mom made the BEST turkey. It had so much flavor. I brought corn pudding and Michael smoked ham. We had mom's famous dressing and she also made another dressing as well with sausage in it. We had marshmallow sweet potatoes, fresh asparagus, turnip greens, 3 kinds of cranberry sauces, rolls, baked apples, apple salad that Vlon brought and so much more I cannot even remember. The desserts were delish. We had pumpkin pie, pecan pie, chocolate pecan pie, banana bread, and persimmon cookies. It was so wonderful. I was so happy to celebrate with them this year and I am especially thankful for the miracle that my dad had in his body this year! He is a new man and looks great! He finished my mom's kitchen just in time for Thanksgiving dinner. Dad, it is beautiful! Thanks for making my mom so happy! After we ate we played dominoes and rested. It was a very cold,
rainy day. Too cold to go for a walk in the country.

Friday we had Thanksgiving at Michael's parents house. Marcus, Rebecca and Luke came over too. We ate more turkey, dressing and all the fixings. It was yummy too. We watched the Aggies beat the Longhorns. Let's us say that the Jackson Boys were not happy and they were so quiet. They usually yell and cheer a lot, but not at this game. The girls could handle it so we left and took the kids to the park. We could not believe how many people were camping at the State Park in rainy, 40 degree weather. Those people were crazy!! Thanksgiving is so much fun! I am ready for a diet now!!

Even though we had such such a good time, I was a little miserable. I got poison ivy on my leg a couple of days before Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving day, it got really bad. By Friday it was so blistery and oozing a lot. I could not wear anything, as it was on the outside of my leg by my knee. I was going to try to tough it out and not get a shot for it, but by Saturday I could not stand it anymore. I found an Urgent Care place in Austin and had Michael drop me off. Four hours later, I had got a shot and was ready to go shopping. I started feeling better within an hour. I asked the doctor if I could continue nursing Cami and she said "no". Tears fell down my face. I know she is almost 21 months, but she loves nursing and I was not ready to stop. However, I do not have a choice. After we left the clinic, we went to Walgreen's and we bought her a cup with a baby nipple. Okay, it is a bottle, but she has a sippy cup at home and really does not care about it. I told Ryen and Amaris to help encourage her to love her bottle and they have done a great job helping me! Now, I am hurting from not nursing, but she is doing really well. She is so smart, so I told her when she asked for it that "Mommy has a bobo and that she can not nurse." She asks me "Why?" She is doing good though and maybe this is what I needed to stop, but it is kinda sad!

Today, we got our house decorated for Christmas. The girls had a blast! We hate our tree...it is too little, but the girls love it! It took all day to get everything down and set up. Michael is sad that he has to go back to work tomorrow and so am I. We have loved having him home for 4 days.
