Deal But No Deal

Ryen got her cast off yesterday! She was very excited, but concerned about them taking the pins out! Uncle Randy bought her a shirt that says, " I do all my own stunts". Well, she did not like the shirt and would not wear it. Last week she was watching Zoom or some thing on the PBS channel and a skater boy was wearing the same shirt. She thought that that was so cool that she had the same shirt as a skater. So, she told me that she would let me take her picture in the closet with the door closed so know one would see her. She is so funny! While she was thinking about her appointment to get the cast off she suggested that I take her to Chuck E. Cheese after her appointment if she was brave. I made her a deal that if she wore the shirt to get her cast off then we would go. She told me that she would think about it. After two minutes of thinking she took the deal!

At the appointment the nurses loved her. She asked a million questions and had teary blue eyes. They sawed the cast off and left the pins in to take an x-ray. The doc came in with the film and told her that he was going to take the pins out. She was so worried that it was going to hurt. No kidding... I was too! The doc just started pulling them out slowly while we both watched! He asked Ryen if she wanted to look at me and she told him "no", she wanted to watch. It was really gross, but we watched!! Chills up my spine!!!!!!!! He told me that she is one of the few that has ever watched and that she was soooooo brave. He told us that we could not go to Chuck E. Cheese or playgrounds for three weeks. Too fragile! She may not be able to fully extend her arm for 3-6 months!

We were about to leave and she stole the heart of the doc. She was sitting on the table and asked the doc, "Do you know about Opposites?" She said, " I am on this table and I am going to get off and that is called an opposite!" He just laughed and asked how old she was!

Well, she wore the shirt..... and No Chuck E. Cheese!
