Okay, tonight I am going to get this blog updated! FINALLY!! I am so happy about it!
Let go back to February. Cami got a hair cut. She went from rags to riches! I was not too thrilled with the haircut, but since then it has grown out and we can get it redone now!
I love sleeping babies. This is the last picture of Cami being 1 years old! :(
Uncle Randy turned 27 this year! He has had a wonderful year so far. He got a really good job in Houston at a well known Sign making company. He is one of the Graphic Designers there and is starting his career very nicely! We are really proud of him and they girls ADORE him!! He made the girls hats out of his tissue paper!
Randy still gets a ton of presents!! :)
The whole family sitting on mom and dads new porch...which is so lovely!!
My Daddy, a man full of faith in the Word of God!!
At some point in early March we went with the Briggs to Jersey Barnyard. It was fun, but cold and rainy! Amaris and Camille still had fun. Ryen went on a date with Daddy to a musical.
Camille and Michael had birthdays March 1st. Michael turned 31 and Camille 2. We chose this year to not have a party, but instead smoke a brisket for family. It was a lot less stress and I actually had time to make Camille's birthday cake. Her theme was rubber ducks, so we went to the feed store and bought 4 real ducks to play with for a couple of days! Whoo!! Of course, Camille loved the ducks as you can see!
Yes, I made the cake!! Cami could not hardly wait for us to sing to her. She ran over to her cake and started signing to herself Happy Birthday. I can not believe that she is 2 now! I am sad and happy all at the same time!
Here are the ducks we bought. We took this picture to remember the duck with the white fuzz on top of his head. See, God healed this duck! Cami was so excited about the ducks that she kinda sorta squeezed this duck to death. It was not funny to me as I saw the duck past out in her hands! Oh... it was horrible! So, after a quick lesson on how to handle the babies we quickly prayed over this duck and spoke life over it! Well, we let it take a little nap and I seriously prayed and asked God what to do about this half dead duck. In my mind I was thinking that when Michael got home he was going to have to take care of this little ducky! Well, God is so sweet to me. I went back to check on this duck after a couple of hours and you know what God healed this little duck. The girls knew it too and were so happy! Ryen told everyone how God healed this duck. After the party we gave the ducks to some friends that were going to raise them. When we dropped this duck off, its eye was half closed from the trauma and over the next couple of weeks they told me that this duck is the smartest duck out of the bunch!! God is so Good ...even in the little things!
Kari and Camille
On March 14th, Michael and I celebrated our 10 year Anniversary! Since my children have been born we have never left them for any reason. So for the first time we took a three day vacation to Fredericksburg, Tx. We were sooooo ready and it was the most wonderful time together! Camille got weaned too and that was HUGE!! We stayed at a lovely B&B that had a private hot tub and huge jacuzzi tub in the room. It was so much fun! We loved it! We missed the girls, but they did not want to come home! So, maybe soon we can do it again! We got up early on our Anniversary and ran 2 miles while the sun came up. After breakfast we hiked Enchanted Rock and then had a romantic dinner in the evening!
It was the most beautiful day ever! And we got to do things that we have not been able to with little kiddos!
Thank you Michael for the BEST 10 years! I can wait for the next 10 years!!
During all the birthday celebrations, I have been training for a 10K, which is 6.2 miles. I ran some after Ryen was born, but after 2 more kids and 3 more years of nursing...running got push aside. Well, things are getting a lot easier now that Cami is 2 and I REALLY needed something to do that is just for ME! So, I started running again. It has not been easy and it still tough most days, but I feel so good after I run that I have gotten addicted to that feeling! So, I signed up for the Statesman Capitol 10K race in Austin. If you have never been to downtown Austin....you need to go. It is the most lovely place ever. Town lake is one of my favorite place in Texas. Anyways, my friend that I was training with backed out the night before...so I went alone. I had several other friends going too, but I never found them. So, I ran alone. Which was fun...I need alone time! The morning of the race it rained and it rained the whole time...which was fine, it was just messy! Here are my biggest fans waiting for me to finish!
I am coming around the corner...I did run the whole thing and it was darn tough! But I did break a record for me and Michael was SOOOO thrilled with me! However, at one point I was going to quit! When I told Michael he said,"I would have been so mad if you would have quit. I got the girls up, their hair brushed and breakfast and we waited in the rain for you." I smiled...it was a big deal for him to bring 3 girls into Austin into an area where there was more than 10,000 people all waiting at the finish line to see their loved ones finish, plus standing in the rain!
I looked horrible, but I finished strong. 1:02:17 was my time. 10 minute miles!
The day before my race, Ryen had her 1/2 mile race in Austin. Her plan was to walk and run, but once she started she did not want to walk. It turns out that she ran a mile in the timed race and we did not realize it until it was over! We were so proud... she ran a mile without stopping! Crazy. Especially since she tried to train with me some and only ran a 1/4 of a mile!
Crossing the finish line!
This is what she wanted! It was important to her to do something that her mommy was doing! I am her role model and I know it!
FINISHER!! I adore this little girl! She has come along way! What the devil meant for harm, God turns around for HIS glory!!
