Not Going Back to School Party

On Sunday night Ryen came to me and asked if summer was over since school was starting. And I told her that school for us is not starting yet. We will not start until Sept 9th, the day after her birthday. Who wants to do school on their birthday? I told her that we do not have to follow public/private school schedules for when school starts or ends. Her principle will make the rules. Ryen did not realize, but she did school the first month and half of summer (according to public school schedule). We have only been on summer break for a short time now. As I was talking to her I remembered how exciting the first day of school was. It was nerveracking, but yet exciting. Ryen had a taste of this feeling at Mother's Day Out two years ago and of course she loved it. I told her (thank to God giving me a quick idea) that on Monday we were going to have a "Not Going Back to School Party". She got so excited and asked about the details. I told her it was a surprise.
